Albert Goodwin on Discovery Channel's "The Will"

I was invited as a New York estate law expert to participate in Discovery channel’s documentary entitled “The Will,” which is about high-profile estate disagreements.

The particular episode dealt with a prominent New York City estate involving the family of Brook Astor. I was asked to review the case materials and give my legal opinion about the proceeding. We’ve discussed the facts of Brook Astor’s guardianship proceeding and the subsequent estate settlement. Her wills were brought up in relation to the questions of capacity, duress, undue influence, and forgery.
